HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Well, Turkey Day is over, and that brings us to under 5 months until the cruise. Time to start looking at flights and hotels. Can't decide if we should fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale...I suppose we will have to decide that before we decide on a hotel.

Hello and welcome to my blog!

This summer, my cousin and I started trying to talk the other "chicks" in our group into going on a cruise. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful. However, my cousin (Becky) and I are going without them! Yay! Well, yay that we're going...not that we're going without them!

We have booked an interior room...a 1A in Carnival speak. We are still unsure if that will be a cabin with an upper and lower bunk, or with two single beds...because nobody that I have connected with seems to know for SURE. But...I am of the thinking that ANY cruise is a GREAT cruise...so I'd be ok with sleeping in a lounge chair on the deck!

The ports we will be visiting are Cozumel, Progreso Mexico, Belize City, and Costa Maya. We plan to do some excursions, some shopping, some beach time, and touring local towns. On board the ship, we will catch some shows, play some bingo, do a little gambling, catch some pool time, and probably will have more than our share of drinks of the day and food!

A little background...I have been on two other cruises...one on Royal Caribbean and one on Carnival. The Glory as a matter of fact. I did not choose to go on the Glory again on purpose...but the ports and the timing happened to be what we were looking for, so there you are. As a side note...I do love the Glory, and am THRILLED to be sailing her again...but do look forward to trying a different ship next time.

My Royal Caribbean cruise was in 2003, and the ports visited were Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios Jamaica, and Labadee ( a small cruiseline owned island off Haiti). My Carnival Cruise was in 2007, and the ports we visited were Cozumel, Freeport Bahamas, Belize City, and Roatan Honduras. There was a little change in itinerary for the Carnival one, which was handed to us as we boarded the ship, due to a hurricane...but we still had an amazing time!

I am very excited for this next adventure, and plan to update often, and keep up with the planning/packing/unpacking and repacking/travel arranging/etc. I will also keep you informed of any tidbits/tips/ideas that I learn along the way. Eventually, I may even post my favorite all-inclusive ridiculously long packing list...including how (in my personal opinion) the items listed are needed, optional, or somebody's dumb idea of a joke.

And, eventually, I will include a complete review of my 7 nights of bliss on the Carnival Glory, including but not limited to, service/accomodations/food/shows/excursions/people I meet/etc.

I am off work for the next 4-1/2 weeks due to having had surgery last week, so I will have plenty of time on my hands. I will plan to split it between here and Cruise Critic, which is my favorite website.

Any questions, comments, or sharing of my blog is appreciated!
